This Monday 7th November there is an exciting evening, by invitation only, at Vinopolis in Borough Market in London for Skrum, the African Rugby Charity. (see http://www.Skrum.org)
There will be loads of rugby celebrities and other dignataries there who all actively support Skrum and the fantastic work they have been doing with disadvantaged kids in Swaziland and South Africa by teaching them rugby. Such is the support for Skrum, that it is now launching its new Gap Year Programme in Africa and Volunteer Vacations is proud to have been chosen as their Volunteer Partner.
Skrum’s slogan is “Pass the ball, not the virus” and part of their programme is to deliver educational support to the youth of today to protect themselves against AIDS and this is something the volunteers can get involved in.
In Swaziland the volunteers will be led by Michael Collinson and take their Level 1 (and maybe Level 2) rugby coaching qualification at the end of coaching the local kids in schools and clubs as well as the communities as a whole and gain invaluable experience.
Volunteer Vacations is so proud to be associated with Skrum and to be chosen to handle their gap year placements.
